Curs\u00f3 los estudios filos\u00f3ficos y teol\u00f3gicos, primero en el Seminario de Lodi, y despu\u00e9s en el Colegio Romano (Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana de Roma). Fue ordenado sacerdote en 1866.<\/p>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n\r\n  <div class=\"timeline-item left\">\r\n    <div class=\"timeline-content\">\r\n      <p>P\u00edo IX le encomend\u00f3 la compleja misi\u00f3n de restaurar en Espa\u00f1a la extinguida Orden Hospitalaria, tarea que inici\u00f3 en 1867.<\/p>\r\n      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev2.lamachi.com\/hospitalarias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/c5e89b6617b2f63b785061754fbde8b9a704f62f-scaled.png\" alt=\"P\u00edo IX\" class=\"timeline-img\">\r\n    <\/div>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n\r\n  <div class=\"timeline-item right\">\r\n    <div class=\"timeline-content\">\r\n      <p>A la restauraci\u00f3n de la orden en Espa\u00f1a sigui\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n, a finales del siglo XIX, la restauraci\u00f3n de la misma orden en Portugal; y, a principios del siglo XX, en M\u00e9xico. El 31 de mayo de 1881 fund\u00f3 la Congregaci\u00f3n de Hermanas Hospitalarias del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas.<\/p>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n\r\n  <div class=\"timeline-item left\">\r\n    <div class=\"timeline-content\">\r\n      <p>Muere en Din\u00e1n (Francia) en el a\u00f1o 1914 y sus restos descansan en nuestra \u201cCasa Madre\u201d, ubicada en Ciempozuelos (Madrid, Espa\u00f1a).<\/p>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n\r\n  <div class=\"timeline-item right\">\r\n    <div class=\"timeline-content\">\r\n      <p>Fue un hombre de caridad inagotable y de excepcionales dotes de liderazgo. Su infancia estuvo profundamente influenciada por los valores cristianos y una educaci\u00f3n familiar centrada en la solidaridad. Contrajo matrimonio joven, pero enviud\u00f3 a los 33 a\u00f1os, momento que marcar\u00eda el inicio de un nuevo camino.<\/p><p>En 1871 comenz\u00f3 una profunda amistad humana y espiritual con Mar\u00eda Angustias Gim\u00e9nez Vera. Juntas, y siguiendo el llamado del Padre Benito Menni, dejaron su ciudad natal y llegaron a Ciempozuelos (Madrid) el 21 de junio de 1880. Se aproxima, me coge de la mano, me coloca el anillo en el dedo y me dice: <span style=\"color: #8c0052;\">\u201cRecibe, amada esposa m\u00eda, este anillo, signo de nuestros desposorios. T\u00fa ser\u00e1s esposa de mi coraz\u00f3n. [\u2026] Este anillo permanecer\u00e1 para siempre en tu dedo, aunque invisible\u201d<\/span> Man. I, p. 3.<\/em><\/p><p>La religiosa dedic\u00f3 buena parte de su vida a servir a los enfermos y m\u00e1s vulnerables en la Casa de Salud C\u00e1mara Pestana y al Centro de Rehabilitaci\u00f3n Psicopedag\u00f3gica Sagrada Familia en Madeira. Quienes la conocieron, la describ\u00edan como especial, siempre de buen humor y disponible a escuchar, amable, sencilla, humilde y entregada a todos.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Muri\u00f3 a los 66 a\u00f1os, el 18 de diciembre de 1963. Su causa de beatificaci\u00f3n y canonizaci\u00f3n fue abierta el 4 de marzo de 2007.
