Ayudando Latinos A Soñar (ALAS) is a grassroots community organization providing cultural arts, mental health care, and essential services on the rural California Coast.
At ALAS the cultural arts is foundational to creating safety, celebrating identity, building deep trust, and uplifting the beauty and strength of our community. For us the cultural arts is cultural sensory for healing and belonging.
Once trust is established, we meet people where they are to provide essential frontline services—ranging from food distribution, to educational support for youth, and basic needs to a free, bilingual mental health clinic.
We don’t just treat the symptoms; we fight for systemic change. Through community-driven research at our Colibrí Center (in partnership with Stanford and University of San Francisco), we use our own data to advocate for human rights, dignified farmworker housing, and equitable policies.
